The story of Zhu Satay started when Madam Woo, a fulltime housewife with a burning passion for cooking created her own recipes after years of passionate trial and error. Not only she keeps the secret recipe of all the dishes she invented for decades for home and business, Madam Woo cherishes them and keeps them close to her heart, treating them like a treasured jewel (‘ming zhu’ in Chinese). And that’s how the name ‘Zhu Satay’ was coined.
Today, Madam Woo has passed her ‘ming zhu’ to her son, Tan. With a natural sense of balancing and even improving the recipe with a variety of ingredients, Tan has added a breath of fresh air to the taste and continue to woo more and more customers to Zhu Satay.
